Tyrann Mathieu has been released from the LSU Tiger Football team following his second failed drug test in as many seasons. Mathieu was suspended last season for only one game after failing a drug test for synthetic marijuana.
Mathieu’s release makes him ineligible to play this season unless he transfers to a Division II school. Tyrann Mathieu, better known as the “Honey Badger” was the Heisman runner-up last season behind Baylor’s Robert Griffin III. Mathieu was a key fixture in LSU’s win over Arkansas last season after returning a punt return for a TD early in the game.
