Arkansas’ DJ Baxendale named to Team USA

DJ Baxendale

This morning, DJ Baxendale was selected to play for the 22-man Team USA squad for this summer. He will be joining Arkansas Head Coach Dave Van Horn. Coach Van Horn will join the team as an Assistant Coach.

This marks the first time since 2009 that a Razorback baseball player has made Team USA. Baxendale is the 8th Razorback in team history to be chosen for this honor. Andy Wilkins was the last Razorback to receive this honor.

This season, Baxendale is the 3rd ranked Pitcher in the SEC (1.58 ERA, 7-1). He also holds 2 saves this year on 14 attempts. Last weekend, he threw a career-high 7 strikeouts to lead Arkansas past Florida.

Team USA will convene on June 22nd and will play a total of 11 games during the summer. The summer finale will include a 5-game series against Japan from July 3-8.
