Since Matt Hayes is a national sports writer, I decided for my part to ask him three questions. One would be of a more national concern. One would be SEC-related but not about Arkansas, and one would be about Arkansas.
Q1: As a University of Arkansas Fan and one who experienced the realities of realigning to a more powerful conference, last year I proposed an SEC West Schedule for Utah to emphasize the rigors of a tough conference in securing a BCS Bowl Game berth.
Now that Utah has made the jump to the PAC12, where do you see the Utes’ football program in terms of their ability to endure a tougher schedule? Where do you see the program in terms of the quality and depth of their team and do you believe that it will effect their wins and losses for next year and the years to come? Congress to Help Utes’ BCS Dreams
Q2: Do you believe that Arkansas is capable of beating Alabama in Fayetteville this year? If so, have you considered the possibility that Arkansas will “run the table” and go 12-0 into the SEC Championship Game?
Q3: Through 13 games, Florida produced exactly the same offensive yardage in 2009 as the Gators did in 2008 (5751 yards in each season) with many of the same players. However, the Gators scored 136 points fewer in 2009 as they did in 2008. (451 vs. 587) Did (or do you believe) Urban Meyer’s medical conditions hampered Florida’s “edge” when it came to play calling or team preparations? Not Surprised by Meyer’s Hokey Pokey
In any event, I hope they live up to your expectations! With many others out of the way, my 2010 Season Prediction Post will follow shortly. Thanks much, SharpTusk
