We’re Starting To Sound Like A Broken Record… Get it?

Another week, a few more broken records…

Dennis Johnson broke the record for most Career Kickoff Return yards previously held by Felix Jones.  He now has 74 returns for 1799 total yards (24.3 yrd average – 5th all time) beating out Felix’s 1749

Last week it was completion percentage, a few weeks ago it was touchdown passes, before that it was passing yards in a game…  Ryan Mallett did it again in the Hogs 56-20 win over Troy on Saturday.  He threw for 405 yards passing which ranks #2 all time behind his own 408 yard performance against Georgia earlier this year. Mallet is rewriting the record books this year, and yesterday he set one of his most impressive records yet…

His 405 passing yards gave him 2,882 for the season which breaks Clint Stoerner’s single season record of 2,626  by 253 yards with 2 games to go.

Ryan Mallett threw one interception last night, but not before breaking another Clint Stoerner record, this time for most pass attempts without an interception.  He had thrown 141 attempts before throwing a pick just before the end of the 2nd quarter which broke Stoerner’s record of 134 set back in 1998.  The only other Hog QB in the books for completions without an interceptions is Barry Lunny Jr. who threw 123 straight passes without an interception in 1992-93.
